Rivera Gotay

Louis Rivera Gotay is a Puerto Rican trombonist, composer and arranger born in San Juan. He was awarded the Full Tuition Scholarship at the Berklee in Puerto Rico camp the largest scholarship given there to study at Berklee College of Music in Boston, where he pursues a double bachelor's in Jazz Composition and Film Scoring.

He is considered an innovative composer, bringing Puerto Rican folklore into the raw world of jazz and film music a voice rarely heard from the Isla del Encanto. Every note carries his sense of patriotism and love for the folklore of the island.

Rivera Gotay has performed in the United States, Austria and Puerto Rico at festivals including the Puerto Rico Heineken Jazz Fest, Springfield Jazz Fest, River Fest, and the International Advent Singing Festival in Vienna. He has shared the stage with Miguel Zenón, Giovanni Hidalgo, Christine Jensen, Edmar Colón, Néstor Torres, Eguie Castrillo, Henry Cole, Leo Blanco, and the Puerto Rico Symphony Orchestra, among others.

Currently he finish  his undergrad studies at Berklee , now he is preparing for his next challenge at  Manhattan School of Music for his master's.
